Solar Tower to be Built

Land was recently purchased in Australia for the construction of a 1-kilometer tall Solar Tower. It will consist of a huge solar collector skirt surrounding a giant chimney. The sun would heat air beneath the skirt, which would then rise up the chimney to drive 32 turbines, producing 200 megawatts of power, as much as a small nuclear reactor. The Solar Tower would provide safe, renewable energy.
