A European Ariane-5 heavy rocket will make a rare triple launch of three satellites next Thursday, launch operator Arianespace said in a press release Friday.
The Ariane-5 ECA, which has a lift capacity of 10 tonnes, is loaded with DirectTV 9S for the US operator DIRECTV, Inc., Optus D1 for the Australian telecoms firm Optus and an experimental satellite, LDREX-2, for the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.

The launch, from the European Space Agency (ESA) base in Kourou, French Guiana, has a window of between 0856 and 0956 GMT on October 12.
